I have got to give up my obsession with realism, lol. Part II C the larger paintings and the early furniture

Painted by Domenichino(fig 30) in the early 17th century it depicts saint Cecile playing cello while looking at the sky with a angel under the traits of an infant holding her partition. The artist chose to depict the saint wearing an outfit contemporary the artist’s life, which would have been anachronistic for a saint who live in the 3rd century. The painting was sold by Jabach to Louis XIV in 1662[22] and was placed, according to Piganiol, on the unique fireplace of the time on the southern wall.

Painted by Domenichino (fig 31)around the same time as the painting previously discussed, it depicts King Davis paying the harp. Just like in the saint Cecile’s painting the main protagonist is assisted by an angel depicted as young boy holding the partition, while he is looking at the sky. But unlike the previous painting, in which background is dark, the one in the King David painting appears to follow the code of a state portrait : with a tapestries with golden fringes filling the upper right corner, and a column displayed on the left. It was purchased by Louis XIV to the heir of Mazarin in 1665[23].

2.3 The Furniture

The 1684 winter set :

The 20th of November 1684 a large delivery of furniture is registered for the royal apartments in Versailles. Several sets of crimson velvet are placed in the King’s apartment. In the room where the King dresses the delivery mentions two armchairs, 16 stools 8 portiere tapestries covered in crimson velvet with gold fringes, and braids, registered under the number 1109[24](fig 32)while no specific seasonal use is mentioned it is nevertheless possible infer that the set in question was meant to used for winter, as the table cloth and daybed delivered alongside for the council cabinet under the number 1103[25], is, as late as 1740[26], still mentioned in said cabinet and used as a winter set, probably until 1749[27]. 

The 1700 summer set :

In May 1700, Doublet delivered three new summer sets for King’s apartment under the numbers 1870,1871 and 1872, the set destined for the central salon, the 1870(fig 33), contained :

-8 portiere tapestries made of 3 pieces of brocade each

-3 armchairs and 12 folding stools covered in brocade, with gold fringes and braids, with their wood sculpted and gilded [28]

The brocade in question was described as “silver background brocade, with flowers embroidered in gold and silver, contoured with silk of different colors, with gold braids at the edge and taffeta lining.”[29], the brocade discharge includes several brocades with silver background used by doublet when making the upholsteries and portieres for those three sets. The 6th brocade listed is the one used for the confection of set 1870, its description goes as follow  :”brocade from Lyon with silver background, flowers patterns of gold and silver surrounded by thin contours of red, green and purple silk”[30], the descrition is almost identical to the original but includes however the specific colors used for the outline of the silver and gold raised patterns, the origin of that brocade can be traced to a delivery from the 12th of June 1698, initially destined for the royal chapel in Versailles, and who was given at the time the number 135[31].

Genetic Unnatural Hair Colours for Little Sims (Growing Together)

I made this many, many years ago in pursuit of being able to play a proper Perfect Genetics Challenge but my recolouring skills were not so great back then and it's been so long; we have many more hairstyles and even a new life stage (hello, infants!) so I felt it was time to just remake this from scratch.

This is the Growing Together set of child hairstyles with the 7 unnatural colours added (white, grey, purple pastel, dark blue, turquoise, and green). They are genetic, meaning your Sims with unnatural hair colours can have children born with the same unnatural hair colour.

Ombre hairstyles - I couldn't get them to look as nice as I wanted them

Black Salt & Pepper, and Brown Salt & Pepper swatches - I tried but they must have some funky coding attached to those colour categories because they defaulted to warm brown and black in-game.

OTHER INFO

Not new meshes - these are recolours of the existing Maxis hairs

No custom thumbnails - I didn't want to clutter up the CAS catalogue with duplicate hairs so these recolours show up as additional swatches on the existing hair in the catalogue.

The Short Box Braids hairstyle has a small glitch where the hair texture bleeds onto the inside of the mouth and some of the teeth. I have looked into this and it seems like this is an issue with the original Maxis textures, since the Maxis colour swatches also have this problem. I have left it for now but if/when Maxis fixes this texture, I will go back and apply the fix to my custom colours, too.

Hogwarts Legacy didn't have romance options so I made Ominis, Sebastian, Anne, and myself in sims 4. Judge me if you must but look at how freaking precious Sebastian is with our daughter Annabelle. The squeal I let out when I saw this is the family portrait the game generated.

Annabelle was born in game and came out looking like a mini Sebastian. TS4 infants can't have freckles but if they could I know she'd have his freckles too. Look at Sebastian before his facial hair grew in.

And look at his daughter. Her hairstyle is literally one of the options I looked at for Sebastian but it had too much forehead and ear coverage.

And I just wanted to see what she'll look like as she gets older so here she is toddler, child, and teen. No freckles but that's probably an EA code issue. She's a Sebastian Sallow clone. Same hair color, same eye color, same eyebrows, same nose, same jaw. All she got from my simself was poor eyesight and maybe the lips if you squint. Even the teen hairstyle looks like something Anne would've had if Sims 4 didn't have the bangs and braids combo just like her Hogwarts Legacy design.

Sebastian is a very hands on father. Most of the time I don't even have to tell him to take care of his daughter. Unless he's sleeping, he'll just do it on his own. Naps, feeding, diaper changes, baths, playing, whatever. Not surprising since I gave him the Family Oriented and Loyal traits. Look at how adorable they are.

S2 Crispinette Headpiece and Braided Buns Hair

I converted the headpiece a while ago, now I did a complete remake and also added the hair.

Braided Buns Hair:

With inspiration and some parts converted from Sims 2 - this hair with side buns can be very useful and versatile for your historical sims.

Available for toddlers to elder sims. 24 maxis match swatches.

Optimized for the Crispinette set.

2. The Headpiece - separated, with hat slider functions: This is a conversion from Sims 2, edited and adapted for Sims 4.

Four versions: a simple headpiece, headpiece with decorative side buns (made of pure sim silk :P ) and  for adult and kids versions, with half veil (in the back) or full veil (fron and back.

Veils are transparent. 

The set is optimized for the separate Braided Buns hair, but can also be used with other suitable hairs.

This one is base game compatible,but need the Hat Slider mods for best result.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Uhhh N-O. I love it after the pregnancy phase as well. If my sim likes going to the gym, I'll include that into their daily routine.

5. Favorite mod? Hmm I love overrides. I think more colums and traits would be a fav mod. Also the Relationship & Pregnancy mod!

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? I think it was Get Famous, City living, or Seasons. All I know is I started off with those first.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? I'm confuseddd but I say LIVE as in going LIVE

26. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? I can’t say this enough but OPEN HOODS/LOTS with a THEME PARK! Or bring back the CONCERTS! we really could use that for our game because that loading screen when your Sim go right in front of their house or any venue... is doing too much.
